Rebel Open Play At AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic

ATLANTA, Ga. - Ole Miss men’s golf team fired a two-round total of 572 and currently sits in a tie for fifth place after day one of the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic hosted by Georgia State.
Sophomore Connor Davis and freshman Ben Wolcott led the Rebels and are tied for 13th place with a two-round total of 142. Davis [osted a 4-under 68 in the first round, carding four birdies, while Wolcott fired five birdies en route to a 3-under 69 in the second round.
As a team, the Rebels are 4-under par through the first two rounds.
“We had some good things going today, but just couldn’t go lower,” head coach Ernest Ross said. I am proud of Connor Davis and Ben Wolcott for shooting in the 60s today. We bled well, but we just weren’t as sharp with our wedges and putting as we need to be. The course is very tight and has some tricks. Teams that have played here in past years had a little better feel for some situations. We have a chance to move up tomorrow.”
Junior Joe Lewis fired a two-round total of 143 and is currently tied for 18th place. Junior Blake Morris, freshman Noah West and sophomore Forrest Gamble, who competed as an individual, are tied for 46th place, all carding a total of 148.
The final round of the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic begins tomorrow. The Rebels will begin teeing off at 8 a.m.
