OXFORD, Miss. - After an off weekend, the No. 12 ranked Ole Miss Rifle team travels to West Virginia this weekend to take on the No. 1 ranked Mountaineers on Saturday and No. 16 ranked Akron on Sunday. The teams will square off at the WVU Shell building, beginning at 8 a.m. CT with smallbore.

In their action on Oct. 19, Ole Miss fell to then-No. 2 ranked Kentucky 4688-4621. This weekend's matches mark the straight road trip for the Rebels in the fall season and the third top-five team Ole Miss has faced this year.

Senior Melissa Quartarone leads the Rebels with a 576.8 average in smallbore and a 584.2 average in air rifle.

The Mountaineers are the defending NCAA Champions and come into the weekend with a 3-3 record. They are coming off a 4695-4669 win against Army last weekend.

The Akron Zips are coming off a weekend sweep of John Jay (N.Y.) College and Indiana University. The Zips out-distanced their competition with a season-high score of 4598.

"After a much needed break last weekend, we are ready to head to West Virginia," head coach Valerie Boothe said. "Both schools we face off with are top-ranked opponents. WVU has a rich history of success and Akron has been on the rise the past couple of years. It's going to be a great weekend of shooting."
