OXFORD, Miss. - Junior goalkeeper Kelly McCormick has been named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service team for her outreach efforts in the Ole Miss and Oxford communities and being a good citizen in the area.

McCormick is one of 14 players named to the team as a player from each member institution is selected for recognition on the team.

The Rebel keeper has been active in the Ole Miss and Oxford communities throughout her playing career and involved in several outreach projects that encompass both human members of the surrounding area and animal members.

Studying in preparation to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, McCormick has been an active volunteer with the Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society and volunteering with the Animal Clinic of Oxford to care for animals in the local area. She has participated in "spay days" where she has helped perform operations to spay and neuter animals in conjunction with the humane society to help the pet population.

She also has volunteered in outreach programs like Reading With The Rebels, the SEC "Together We Can" canned food drive to help stock local food pantries and is also active in many religious organizations in town and throughout campus.

McCormick also volunteers with youth soccer clinics in the local area and helps train keepers for local club soccer teams in the area.

McCormick and the Rebels will take the field at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for the team's first match in the SEC Tournament at the Orange Beach SportsPlex in Orange Beach, Ala. The match against the Kentucky Wildcats will be the first between the two teams this season and the winner will advance to the semifinals on Friday.
