GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The No. 37 ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team faced a daunting task on Friday against No.2 Florida. The Gators came in with an impressive home win streak at the Ring Tennis Complex, and they kept it intact.

Ole Miss fell behind early and Florida never let up on their way to their 118th straight home win. The Rebels (10-10, 4-6) will travel to Columbia Sunday for a 12:30 p.m. match against South Carolina. The Gamecocks defeated Mississippi State 4-3 on Friday.

Florida (16-2, 9-1 SEC) won the doubles point for the 11th time this year and then used singles victories from Alexandra Cercone against Rebel freshman Mai El Kamash, Sofie Oyen versus sophomore Julia Jones and Caroline Hitimana over to capture the win.

"We just got beat by a better team," head coach Mark Beyers said. "We played well in spots; Marija had an opportunity to win at five. They're very good. We just have to learn from this and get ready to play South Carolina."
