CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Ole Miss women's tennis junior Caroline Rohde-Moe participated in the NCAA Singles Championship for the first time in her career Wednesday, but she dropped a tough match to the No. 5 seed, Zsofi Susanyi of California in the first round to conclude the season for the Rebels.

Susanyi is also ranked No. 5 in the nation in singles, and she showed why, avoiding the pitfalls of playing an unseeded player in the first round. Rohde-Moe hung in there in the first set. After falling behind 1-4, she battled back to 3-4 before dropping the set 6-3. The second set was all Susanyi, as she won it 6-0 to advance.

"It was a tough draw," head coach Mark Beyers said. "Susanyi is one of the best players in the country. After a slow start, Caroline had some opportunities when she fought back from 1-4 to 3-4, but she wasn't able to get ahead. All in all, Caro had a very good year and we are looking forward to even bigger and better things next year."

Rohde-Moe ends her season at 26-20. She earned All-SEC honors for the second year in a row, received the ITA Southern Region Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sportsmanship and Leadership Award and posted a 4.0 grade point average.
