Rebels Get Ready For SEC Media Days

7/10/2013 | Football, Blog

The circus known as SEC Football Media Days is here again, and with seven straight national titles in our collective pockets, I'm sure it will be bigger than ever. Festivities will be Tuesday through Thursday (July 16-18) at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham, and Ole Miss is part of Tuesday's opening-day lineup along with Florida, Missouri and South Carolina. The Rebels and Gamecocks are the evening pairing from 3:50 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. Commissioner Mike Slive will open Media Days at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Texas A&M, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Auburn and Arkansas are on Wednesday and LSU, Georgia, Alabama and Vanderbilt on Thursday. SEC Coordinator of Football Officials Steve Shaw will also speak on Wednesday.

Joining Coach Hugh Freeze in the Ole Miss contingency will be LB Mike Marry, WR Donte Moncrief and QB Bo Wallace. It was a very tough decision for us. We enjoy the luxury of having a number of student-athletes that represent our program well with the media. In particular, DB Charles Sawyer attended SEC Media Days last year and did an outstanding job, and he will continue to represent our program in a lot of other ways. Denzel Nkemdiche is an All-SEC LB that also handles himself very well with the media. It was close, but I am excited about the three we settled on.
