El Kamash Loses Tight Match At All-American

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Sophomore Mai El Kamash of the Ole Miss women's tennis team lost a tight three-setter to Clemson's Romy Koelzer in the final round of prequalifying Sunday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

El Kamash won a tiebreaker in the first set, 7-3 to take the early momentum, but Koelzer jumped out to an early lead in the second and won it 6-2. The third set was decided by one break, 6-4, in favor of Koelzer.

The Rebels will continue play in the All-American, as senior Caroline Rohde-Moe starts her quest in the qualifying tournament beginning Tuesday at the Riviera Country Club. She is also in main draw doubles with Marija Milutinovic. Erin Stephens and Iris Verboven are in qualifying doubles.
