BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The qualifying round of the Players' Choice Open concluded Monday with Ole Miss Men's Tennis players Stefan Lindmark and Gustav Hansson advancing to the main draw at the Highland Park Tennis Center.

Lindmark advanced to the main draw, defeating teammate William Kallberg 6-1, 6-3 in the final round of qualifying. In the next to last round of qualifying, Lindmark took out the No. 5 seed, Ryler DeHeart, a former All-American at Illinois and current assistant coach at Alabama. In four matches, Lindmark has only dropped one set.

Hansson, the No. 2 seed in the qualifying, downed Samford junior Fares Kilani 6-2, 6-0 in the final round after beating teammate Vinod Gowda in the next to last round Sunday. In four matches, Hansson only dropped one set.

Freshman Zvonimir Babic joined Lindmark, Kallberg and Hansson in the final round of qualifying. Babic lost in three sets to Australia's Jake Wynan, a junior for ULL. After Babic won the first set 6-3, Wynan won the second set 6-0 and then the third set 6-4.

"The guys have been practicing with a purpose all fall and it's starting to translate into wins," Hansson said. "To have four players reach the last round of qualifying in a full 128-player draw shows we have depth. Stefan and Gustav are both playing better with each match, and they will be a very tough out for whoever they play in their next match."
