Lindmark Advances at Players Choice Open

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss had two players advance to the main draw of the Players' Choice Open and junior Stefan Lindmark remained alive in the tournament, defeating Spencer Papa of the United States in straight sets Wednesday to reach the second round.
Lindmark won a close first set 7-5 and then cruised in the second set 6-2 for his fifth straight win. He will face former Florida State All-American and ACC Player of the Year, Jean Yves Aubone, in the second round Thursday.
Freshman Gustav Hansson lost his first round match to Deiton Baughman of the U.S. in two tight sets 6-4, 6-4.
Former three-time All-American Catalin Gard is also competing in the tournament, and he advanced to the second round with a straight set win as well.
