Rebels to Compete at Winter Airgun Championships

OXFORD, Miss. - While the collegiate season is finished for the fall, Ole Miss rifle team members Alison Weisz and Nicolle Thiry will be competing in the Winter Airgun Championships this weekend in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The post-Thanksgiving tradition of USA Shooting's Winter Airgun Championships features a record number of more than 350 collegiate rifle athletes, Paralympic shooters, National and National Junior Team members and Junior Olympic participants competing for top honors and a guaranteed spot in the 2015 World Cup season opener that takes place in early April in Changwon, South Korea.
Thursday is a training day, while competition begins Friday at 9:45 a.m. CT and concludes Sunday.
In the Rebels' last fall competition, Weisz posted a season-high 593 in air rifle against West Virginia, while Thiry recorded a career-high 583 in air rifle vs. Army.
