Rebel Comeback Falls Short at Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - Jarvis Summers led the Rebels with 20 points and LaDarius White added 14, but Ole Miss (8-4) fell to Dayton (10-2) Tuesday night.
Dayton held off a late Ole Miss surge to win 78-74. Dayton had held a comfortable lead for most of the game, and led 75-65 with 1:42 left in regulation.
But the Rebels stormed back to pull within three points, 77-74, on a three-pointer by guard LaDarius White with 15.5 seconds left.
The Flyers' Pierre made one of two free throws on the ensuing play and the Rebels couldn't get any closer. Dayton entered Tuesday's game with an 11-game home win streak, dating to last season, and their hometown confidence was obvious for most of the game.
Dayton led by as much as 16 in the first half as the Rebels committed eight turnovers. Ole Miss chipped away and made five of its last six field goals before halftime, but Dayton led 41-32 at the break. The Rebels pulled within seven points early in the second half.
Ole Miss held the advantage on the boards, outrebounding Dayton, 44-33.
