Rebel Netter Duo Reaches Semifinals at SEC Fall Classic

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - In their first tournament playing together, Ole Miss Men's Tennis duo Stefan Lindmark and Ricardo Jorge advanced to the doubles semifinals Saturday, posting consecutive 8-5 wins.
Both are ranked in the preseason ITA Double Rankings, Lindmark with freshman Gustav Hansson, and Jorge with senior William Kallberg. However, they have paired up to do quite well in their first action together.
In the morning match, Lindmark and Jorge defeated Mississippi State's Mate Cutura and Robin Haden 8-5. In the quarterfinals, Lindmark and Jorge took out Elliott Orkin and Maxx Lipman of Florida 8-5.
Lindmark and Jorge will face a pair of freshmen from South Carolina, Thomas Mayronne and Harrison O'Keefe, in the semifinals.
In singles, Kallberg played a great match in the morning to advance to the round of 16, downing Texas A&M's A.J. Catanzariti 6-4, 6-2. Kallberg's third round match against Auburn's Marko Krickovic started outside, but then rain forced the conclusion indoors. They played a tight first set, which Krickovic won 6-4 before taking the second set 6-2.
Jorge was quite busy on Saturday, as he also won twice in consolation singles to advance to final eight there. In the first round, he beat Simon Freund of LSU in three tight sets, before eliminating Tennessee's Jess Jones in straight sets. Jorge will have an opportunity for a ranked win Sunday, as he faces 46th-ranked Jeremy Efferding of Texas A&M.
The fall season is about individual results and players working on their games to prepare for the team dual matches in the spring.
"We are gaining valuable experience by playing competitive matches against quality opponents," head coach Toby Hansson said. "We will use this to continue to get better each time we step on the court."
