Ole Miss Hosts Minnesota, Memphis In Rebel Classic

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Soccer team will host the Rebel Classic this weekend as the Rebels welcome Auburn, Memphis and Minnesota to campus at the University of Mississippi for the weekend event. It's the first time in the program's history for Ole Miss to host a regular-season tournament in soccer.
The Rebels take to the field at 7 p.m. Friday night against the Minnesota Golden Gophers before facing the Memphis Tigers at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening. Admission to all matches is free and both Rebel contests will be broadcast on the SEC Network + digital platform.
รขโฌยข Ole Miss (2-1-1) enters the weekend coming off a 5-1 win over Louisiana-Lafayette last weekend behind a hat trick from sophomore Addie Forbus and a pair of goals from junior Jessica Hiskey.
รขโฌยข The hat trick for Forbus was the first of her career and is the first for a player in the Southeastern Conference this season. Forbus tallied eight points in the game against the Ragin' Cajuns as she also added a pair of assists.
รขโฌยข The Rebels are 0-1 all-time against Minnesota and are 9-6-1 all-time against Memphis heading into the weekend matches.
รขโฌยข The tournament marks a first for Ole Miss which will be hosting a regular-season event of this type for the first time in the 20-year history of the program. Auburn will also be competing in the four-match event along with Memphis and Minnesota, though the Rebels and Tigers will not face each other.
รขโฌยข Minnesota (3-1-0) enters the weekend with its lone loss coming on the road at Florida State in the opening weekend of play by a score of 4-1. In its three wins, the Golden Gophers have shutout each opponent while tallying 13 total goals.
รขโฌยข Memphis (1-1-1) enters the weekend with a pair of matches against SEC teams already under its belt after beating Alabama on the road and falling to Vanderbilt at home in Memphis. The tie for the Tigers came at home against Lipscomb.
