Men's Tennis Concludes Play At All-American

TULSA, Okla. - The Ole Miss Men's Tennis team concluded its stay at the ITA All-American Championships Tuesday.
Both Stefan Lindmark and William Kallberg lost their second round qualifying singles matches. Lindmark fell to Duke's Nicolas Alvarez in a close match, 6-4, 7-5. Kallberg dropped his match to Robert Kelly of North Carolina 6-4, 6-3.
In the doubles, Lindmark teamed up with freshman Gustav Hansson to defeat Cale Hammond and Raphael Hemmeler of Duke 6-3, 6-3 in the first round. Later in the evening in the second round, the Swedish duo lost a three-setter to Texas A&M's Jeremy Efferding and Jordan Szabo. The match came down to a third set supertiebreaker, and the A&M duo won it 10-3 to advance.
The Rebels' other tandem, Kallberg and sophomore Ricardo Jorge, lost a tight first set to Georgia's Paul Oosterbaan and Ben Wagland 7-6(7) before dropping the second set 6-1.
Ole Miss returns to the courts Oct. 16-20 at the ITA Southern Regional Championships in Auburn, Alabama.

First round - Lindmark/Hansson (OM) def. Cale Hammond/Raphael Hemmeler (Duke) 6-3, 6-3; Paul Oosterbaan/Ben Wagland (UGA) def. Kallberg/Jorge (OM) 7-6(7), 6-1. Second round - Efferding/Szabo (TAMU) def. Lindmark/Hansson (OM) 6-3, 3-6, 1-0(3).
