OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss women's tennis senior Julia Jones (St. Petersburg, Florida) continued a great final year this past weekend in Hawaii, and Wednesday she was recognized as the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week.

Jones, who began the spring with a career-high No. 20 ranking in singles, went 3-0 in singles and doubles to lead the Rebels to a 2-0 start with wins against the University of Hawaii and Washington. She dropped only seven games in both matches to improve to 12-3 overall. Jones defeated 90th-ranked Elianne Douglas-Miron 6-1, 6-1 for her eighth ranked win of the year and the 85th victory of her career.

This marks the first time for Jones to be honored as the player of the week. She earned Freshman of the Week honors in 2012.

The Rebels host Jackson State Saturday at 11 a.m., in a doubleheader at the Gillom Sports Center.
