Post Game Quotes - Florida
1/24/2015 | Men's Basketball
Ole Miss Head Coach Andy Kennedy
On the game…
"It's good for our confidence. We're not as confident of a group as I would have hoped despite some of our early wins that show we are a good basketball team. You have to be able to stack wins at this time of the year. It was obviously a vital game for us. For whatever reason, we haven't played very well in this building consecutively. We knew that Florida was going to come out and attack us. Michael Frazier and Dorian Finney-Smith were pivotal players on the Final Four team last year that ran through this league. We made mistakes early. We lost Michael Frazier, and he made us pay time and time again. I was proud of our fight. I want to see us in the fight. If we're in the fight, we're good enough to win games."
On Jarvis Summers…
"He's an all-league player that has been here before. We need him to carry us in these situations. We had a situation like that earlier in the year against Kentucky, and he settled a little bit. Tonight, he did a much better job of attacking off the bounce. He got to his strong hand and then stepped up and made two huge free throws."
On contributions from different players…
"Terence Smith stepped up and made some huge shots for us when we made that run in the second half to give us some life. Florida was up six at the half, and it could have been more. We made a little spurt at them at the end. For the first time in the second half when Terence knocked down that big three, it energized us and gave him a little bit of pop. I was searching for something. We weren't getting much productivity from our front line in any category. We went to Anthony (Perez) and he stepped up. He made free throws for us and knocked down a huge 3."
