On the team's defense…
"I thought for the most part we were pretty solid. We started changing some defenses in the second half because we were having a hard time. We were switching their ball screen except when Sebas (Sebastian Saiz) was in the game. Obviously, we need him in the game because he's the only guy that can snatch a real rebound, and he scored very efficiently. We tried to keep him in the game, but we were getting hurt because they are so small. They do what they do, and they do it very well."
On the game…
"I hope Jalan West isn't hurt. What a player. He made incredible shots that kept them hanging around. We had a spurt where we were really locked in. We didn't turn the ball over in the last 12 minutes. That was our Achilles' heel early, allowing them to stay around in the open floor. And then West tried to will them back. I was proud of our guys. We made free throws, rebounded the ball and didn't turn it over. Our marquee guys made plays down the stretch."
On point guard play…
"It got better throughout the course of the game. Sam (Finley) did some really good things. He has the ability to get it at the basket. He only turned the ball over one time in 28 minutes against a team that was playing pressure, albeit it passive pressure. Sometimes that's the most difficult because you get in no man's land. We had some hesitation at times, but he did a good job of getting the ball into the paint. J.T. (Escobar) did what we needed him to do, just come in and be solid. He's a really good shooter. I would have liked to see him make one so he could relax a little bit. Everything is going so fast, but that's to be expected in his first game."
