CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Senior Tomasz Gielo had a career-high 15 points and senior Stefan Moody added 13, but Ole Miss fell 75-63 to Seton Hall in the final game of the Gildan Charleston Classic Sunday.
Isaiah Whitehead had 12 of his 17 points in the second half for the Pirates as Seton Hall outlasted Ole Miss in the second half. Whitehead scored eight straight points down the stretch as the Pirates took the lead. Desi Rodriguez had 12 points and Khadeen Carrington 10 for Seton Hall.
"They were just so much more consistent than us with the ball," Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said. "The numbers speak for themselves."
They certainly do.
Seton Hall shot 59.7 percent in the second half and nearly 50 percent for the game. Ole Miss finished 10 of 20 from the foul line.
"I can't remember the last time we shot 50 percent from the free-throw line," Kennedy said.
The teams played a back-and-forth contest for the first 27 minutes, trading the lead 22 times during that stretch.
Moody's layup tied things at 44-all before Derrick Gordon hit two foul shots with 12:49 left that put the Pirates up to stay.
The lead changed hands 15 times in the opening period, the final one coming on Gielo's short jumper as time expired to give Ole Miss a 31-30 lead at the break.
The teams swapped the lead seven more times before Seton Hall broke away.
