No. 16 Rebels in Ohio for NCAA Preview

OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 16 ranked Ole Miss rifle team will head to Akron University this weekend for a pair of matches as part of the NCAA Preview. Saturday the Rebels will compete against No. 14 Akron, followed No. 9 Nebraska Sunday.
The Competition
Ole Miss will be among 11 top 25 teams in action this weekend at the Louis Frida Stile Athletics Field House, which will host the NCAA Championships March 9-12. The Rebels will square off against No. 14 Akron and No. 9 Nebraska.
All about Akron
Akron picked up a big win at the University of the Science (4,633-3,950). The 4,633 team points set a new school record.
Noting Nebraska
In their most recent action, the Cornhuskers topped North Carolina State (4,666-4,636) and beat Army (4,663-4,616).
Rebel Rewind
This past Sunday the Rebels lost to No. 1 West Virginia and No. 13 Jacksonville State, but Freshman Allison Villa shot a personal best 585 in air rifle. The Rebels will be looking for a turn around with high hopes for success this upcoming weekend.

"We are excited to be in Akron and have the opportunity to shoot where the NCAA Championships will be held in March. This is a dry run for Akron as host. After lots of reflection in training this week, the team is prepared to close out this part of the season."
