Recap

Ole Miss Head Coach Andy Kennedy

On the game…

"We started the game well. We were up seven to nine (points), and then just gave it to them two or three times in a row off pressure. One time the ball went right through (Stefan) Moody's hands. Then, we threw it to them for a layup. All of a sudden, it gave them life. We struggled with our shooting in the first half. We were standing on the perimeter way too much, which is the whole intent of that matchup zone. In the second half, we did a much better job of attacking and putting pressure on the rim if we would have finished at a little higher percentage. I thought the position where we were getting shots in the second half was much better. Ultimately, we got just enough stops. They shoot 54 percent in the second half, which is totally ridiculous. We were having trouble with the ball-screen defense. When we were getting them to miss, they were hurting us on the offensive glass. We've really been a solid rebounding team the last couple of games. Some of it was a result of what happened to Sebas (Sebastian Saiz) at the end of the Memphis game. We didn't know if he was going to be available today until shootaround. I tried to ease him into the rotation. With him in there, we're a little more solid on the glass. At the end of the day, they don't say how; they say how many. We'll take our seventh in a row. I'm just glad we were able to close out Tad on the right note."

On the final game at Tad Smith Coliseum…
"I'll miss the fact that we won 80 percent of our games in here. I hope that transfers over. It's not a bad number. We have made fun of the building for obvious reasons. It's easy to poke fun, but it has been a very good home to Rebel basketball over the years. There's a lot of great moments that have come through this building, a lot of emotion spent, and stress from this guy over the last 10 years. It's hard for me to believe that the dream is finally a reality, and we're really excited about taking the next step as a program."
