OXFORD, Miss. - Junior guard Stefan Moody has been named the SEC Player of the Week for the second time this month, the conference office announced Monday.
Moody, a Kissimmee, Florida native, averaged 25.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 steals and hit 14 3-pointers in leading the Rebels to wins at Mississippi State and against Tennessee. Moody scored a career-high 29 points and knocked down 8 3-pointer as the Rebels earned their first season sweep of MSU since 1998.
He knocked down 3 3s in 82 seconds in the second half as Ole Miss erased a 10-point deficit to defeat the Bulldogs. The eight 3s are tied for the second most in school history, trailing only Marshall Henderson's school record of 10. He then scored 22 points on 6 3-pointers and tallied a career-high 6 steals as Ole Miss downed Tennessee Saturday.
Ole Miss has won eight of its last nine SEC games heading into Wednesday's show down with Georgia.
