Recap

Ole Miss Head Coach Andy Kennedy

On the game…
"We're a group that throws the kitchen sink at you defensively. Tonight, we probably played 80 percent of the game in man. The zone against them was concerning because (Alex) Caruso with his size could see over the top. We went with a different game plan and put (Stefan) Moody on him. We wanted to play under him and harass him. It threw him off his game. We jammed him in the open floor when typically you are dropping back into transition. He couldn't get out and stretch us in the open floor. We were really locked in defensively. It wasn't the most aesthetically pleasing at times, but these are the kind of games you have to win in early February. You have to grind through them. When you have a veteran team, you hope they have the maturity to be able to, even when they're not on the top of their game."

On the offense…
"We were up 13-7, 15-10, and it gave us a false sense of security. The reality is we should have been up 12 to 14 points. We were missing point-blank looks. In the first half, we were 0 for 12 from 3. Honestly, most of them were clean looks. We just weren't making them. In the second half, we made enough to give ourselves some separation. Moody was the guy that kept us in it early just by being attacking. Terence Smith gave us great minutes early. Collectively, our frontline goes 11 for 20 and rebounded at a pretty efficient rate. M.J. Rhett had some huge plays in the second half as we were separating."
