OXFORD, Miss. -- Senior Julia Jones won her 97th career match and freshman Natalie Suk also won in three sets, but it was not enough as LSU won a pair of three-setters at five and six for a 4-2 win at the Gillom Sports Center here Friday.
The Rebels fell to 11-7 overall and 3-6 in the SEC as they get set to host No. 15 Texas A&M Sunday at Noon.

With rain in the area, the teams elected to begin the match with singles. The match started outdoors at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center, but early into the singles it started to rain again and the match was moved indoors.
LSU (14-7, 4-4) took a 1-0 lead when 69th-ranked Skylar Kuykendall defeated Mai El Kamash 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
Jones, ranked No. 14, put the Rebels on the board gutting out a three-setter against 39th-ranked Joana Vale Costa 6-4, 6-7(1), 6-0 at No. 1 singles. She improved to 24-7 overall and 14-4 at No. 1 singles. It also marked the second win this year against Vale Costa after she beat her in the semifinals of the ITA Southern Regional in the fall.
Suk gave the Rebels a 2-1 lead by defeating Abby Owens 7-6(6), 1-6, 7-5 at No. 3 singles for her third straight win. She improved to 6-2 in the SEC.
That would be it for the Rebels though, as LSU's Noel Scott defeated Erin Stephens 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4, Skylar Holloway beat Iris Verboven 6-1 in the third at No. 6 and then Ella Taylor rallied to beat Zalina Khairudinova 6-0 in the third to give her team the 4-2 win.
