Freeze, Tuohy Conclude Play at Charity Golf Tournament

The Ole Miss team of head football coach Hugh Freeze and Sean Tuohy turned in a strong showing at the 2015 Chick-fil-A Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament at Reynolds Plantation outside Atlanta on Tuesday.

The duo tied for for seventh place at 7-under par with the Ohio State team of Urban Meyer and Jeff Logan. They finished two shots back of the four teams that met in the playoff, including the eventual winners, the Georgia Tech team of Paul Johnson and Jon Barry, who won the tournament for the second straight year and the fourth time in the last five years.

With their seventh-place finish, Freeze and Tuohy won $30,000 in scholarships and charity. Freeze also won the long drive competition Monday, bringing their total winnings at the event to $35,000 to benefit the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson.

The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge is the country's premier head coach and celebrity charity golf event featuring NCAA head coaches and former athletes and celebrities from the same school competing against their rivals for a share of a $520,000 scholarship purse.

In addition to the $520,000 charity and scholarship purse, another $113,305 was generated for charitable organizations including the American Diabetes Association. Over the last nine years, the event has contributed a total of $5.3 million in scholarship and charity, helping make the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl college football's most charitable bowl game.
