OXFORD, Miss. -- For the first time in the history of the program, the Ole Miss rifle team will have a member from the 49th state, as Alaska native Marina Noble joins the Rebels, along with California native Allison Villa. Both will arrive in August.

"We are really excited to add these two young ladies to our team," head coach Valerie Boothe said. "They are both loaded with potential and ready to take the next step.

Noble, who hails from Anchorage, Alaska, is 6-foot-4 and shoots left-handed. She has competed in multiple national matches, including AFJROTC, 3PAR Western Regional CMP, 3PAR National CMP, Rocky Mountain Championships, Winter Air Gun and recently competed in the Junior Olympics for the first time in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

When she is not on the range, Noble enjoys the arts and theatre. She is an assistant director for Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat and has been the lead costumer for more than 20 shows in addition to being a technical consultant for many more. Noble plans to major in engineering.

Villa of Oak View, California, has her USA Shooting Level 1 Coaching Certificate and has been an assistant coach with the Navy Wounded Warrior Rifle team. This year, she qualified for the National Junior Olympics in smallbore and air rifle. In 2014, she was a bronze medalist at the USA Shooting National Championships Jr. Women's Prone and finished eighth overall.

When she's not shooting, Villa enjoys listening to music, watching movies, playing soccer or volleyball, and going to the beach. She plans to major in mechanical engineering.

The two met at the Olympic Training Center last week during the Junior Olympics and plan to room together at Ole Miss.
