Keep Up With Ole Miss Women's Golf This Summer

Throughout the summer OleMissSports.com will check in with current and former Rebels who are spending the summer honing their games on the links. Ole Miss will be represented at some of the top tournaments this summer. Take a look at the playing schedules and results below:

Hovatter's Summer Schedule:
Aug 10-16: U.S. Women's Amateur
Torneo Final Del Ranking Argentino (May 28-31)
Idoyaga, who returned to her native Argentina for the summer, played in the final ranking event and fired a three round score of 227 (76-74-77). It was Idoyaga's lone summer event on the schedule
June 2: USGA Women's Open Qualifier
Newton played in a sectional qualifier for the 2015 USGA Women's Open at the Woodlands Country Club. Newton finished tied for 46th place with a two round score of 162.

June: 15-20: WWGA Women's Western Amateur
Newton advanced to the quarterfinal third flight of match play on Thursday, falling to Bing Singhsumalee 7 and 6. Newton won her first match play match, 4-3 against Maddy Rayner. Newton opened play on Monday with two rounds of qualifying on Monday and Tuesday and two rounds of match play on
Wednesday and Thursday.

July 7-8: NTPGA Texas Women's Open
Newton tied for 51st place in the tournament played in her home state of Texas. She fired an opening round 84 but rebounded nicely in the second round with a 1-over par, 72, closing the tournament with a two-round score of 156.

Incoming Players:
May 18: USGA Women's Open Qualifier
Purdom, who will join the Ole Miss squad in the fall, fired a two-round score of 172 (87-85--172) to finish in 62nd place in the qualifier.

June 15-20: WWGA Women's Western Amateur
Purdom reached Wednesday's match play round, where she lost to Hanna Lee, 5 and 3. Purdom opened play on Monday with two rounds of qualifying on Monday and Tuesday prior to Wednesday's match play.
June 29-July 2: The Bubba Conlee
Purdom finished the prestigious junior tournament in 38th place with a three round score of 239. Purdom fired her best round of the tournament o the second day with a 78. She was 23-over par for the tournament.

July 6-7: Trusted Choice Big I State Qualifier
Purdom finished second in the Kentucky state qualifier with a two-round score of 150 (77-73) and amounted a furious comeback down the stretch cutting a once 5-stroke lead down to just one stroke in the final round. Purdom's second-place finish qualified her for the Trusted Choice Big I National Championship that will be held at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas on August 3 through August 6.

Dori Carter
June 3-4: Manulife LPGA Classic
Dori Carter most recently played at the Manulife LPGA Classic June 3-4 at the Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, Ontario. Carter fired a two-round score of 3-under par, 141 (72-69 --- 141), but didn't make the cut.

Haley (Millsap) Italia
May 29: USGA Women's Open Qualifier
Hayley Italia qualified for the 2015 USGA Women's Open through a sectional qualifier at Sugar Mill Country Club. She fired a two-round score of 142 (70-72--142) and took runner-up honors. She will play in the 2015 US Women's Open Championship July 9-12 in Lancaster, Pa.
Natalie Gleadall
June 3-4: Manulife LPGA Classic
Natalie Gleadall recently competed tat the Manulife LPGA Classic in her native Ontario. Gleadall made the field by going through a qualifier. Gleadall opened the tournament strong by firing a 68 in the opening round followed by a 72 which pushed her into the final rounds. She closed the tournament with a 288 (68-72-70-78 -- 288), which placed her in 68th place.
Ericka Schneider
June 5-7: Firekeepers Casino Hotel Championship
Ericka Schneider is in her first year on the Symetra Tour. She has played in six tournaments this season and most recently played at the Firekeepers Casino Hotel Championship. She fired a two round 150 (73-77 -- 150) but didn't make the cut.
