Ole Miss Announces Exciting 2015 Schedule

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Rebels will play an exciting and challenging schedule in the fall of 2015, featuring nine contests against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament a year ago it was announced by Ole Miss head coach Matthew Mott on Tuesday.

The Rebels will play a 19 game schedule that features 12 home contests -- four against NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago. Ole Miss will go on the road for seven contests, with five of them coming against teams in the postseason last year -- four of whom advanced past the first round and two who advanced to at least the Elite Eight of the tournament.

Five of the teams on the Rebels' schedule for the 2015 season advanced to the Sweet 16 a year ago.

"This is one of the toughest schedules we have ever had here at Ole Miss," Mott said. "Our non-conference schedule will certainly prepare us for a grueling SEC schedule. With so many players returning we wanted to challenge this squad with competition that would ready us for the rigors of the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA Tournament."

The season opens with an exhibition contest against Central Arkansas (Aug. 14) before the Rebels hit the road to open a split weekend with a match at Florida Gulf Coast (Aug. 21). They return home to close out the weekend with Boise State (Aug. 23).

Ole Miss will then play four consecutive home matches against non-conference competition with contests against UL-Lafayette (Aug. 28), Austin Peay (Aug. 30), UCF (Sept. 4) and UALR (Sept. 6).

The Rebels then open SEC play with Kentucky (Sept. 11) before stepping back out of conference play to host Louisville (Sept. 13) in an exciting weekend against the Bluegrass state rivals.

Another weekend featuring a conference foe and a non-conference opponent awaits the next week, as the Rebels will travel to Florida (Sept. 18) before continuing to play on the road at regional-rival Memphis (Sept. 20).

It's SEC play the rest of the way for Ole Miss with home contests against Alabama (Sept. 25), LSU (Sept. 27), South Carolina (Oct. 11), Auburn (Oct. 16) and Vanderbilt (Oct. 29). The Rebels will play road matches at Missouri (Oct. 2), Arkansas (Oct. 9), Tennessee (Oct. 22) and Texas A&M (Oct. 25) down the stretch.
