OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss rising senior Anthony Perez, playing for the Venezuelan National Team, helped knock off Iowa State and South Florida this week as part of an exhibition tour in Madrid, Spain.
Perez, a native of Cumana, Venezuela, started both games for his home country and averaged 24.5 points a game in wins over the Bulls and Cyclones, including a game-high 26 points in a 68-60 victory over USF. Perez knocked down 5-of-7 3-pointers and pulled down 6 boards in the win Tuesday. He followed that up with a game-high 23 points in an 82-77 come-from-behind victory over the Cyclones Wednesday.
Perez and the Venezuelan National Team continue their European exhibition tour with a game against Macedonia Friday.
