ITA Preseason Rankings | All-American Selections

OXFORD, Miss. - For tennis, fall is about individual play, and Tuesday the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the Oracle preseason singles and doubles rankings as well as the All-American Championship selections.

Oracle/ITA Rankings
The Rebels are well-represented in the rankings, led by senior All-SEC honoree Stefan Lindmark, who checks in at No. 44 after an outstanding junior year. The Stockholm, Sweden native finished the 2015 season with a 21-10 record, including becoming the fifth player in program history to go undefeated in the SEC. Junior Ricardo Jorge is ranked No. 82. He posted a 20-8 record in 2015. In doubles, Lindmark and sophomore Gustav Hansson earned a No. 30 ranking. Freshman Filip Kraljevic is ranked No. 5 in the freshman/newcomers preseason rankings.

"Stefan has become one of the top players in the SEC and the nation and we expect him to have a big senior year," head coach Toby Hansson said. "Ricardo and Gustav both played a big role in last year's success and we are excited to see what they can do this year. Filip is very good and will help us immediately in both singles and doubles. He works extremely hard and has a bright future here."

ITA All-American Selections
A total of nine Rebels will compete in the Saint Francis ITA All-American Championships, the year's first major, which takes place Oct. 3-12. Stefan Lindmark received a main draw bid, while Filip Kraljevic and Ricardo Jorge earned qualifying spots. Fabian Fallert, Zvonimir Babic, Grey Hamilton, Gustav Hansson, Vinod Gowda and Robert Mounger will begin in the prequalifying. Lindmark and Hansson are in qualifying doubles.

The Rebels will begin fall competition next weekend with some going to the Cajun Classic and others participating in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
