- Ole Miss is tied for second in the SEC with 19 goals through eight games and ranks 23rd nationally

SCOUTING FLORIDA
Ole Miss will hit the road to face No. 11 ranked Florida on Friday night at 7 p.m. The nationally ranked Gators are also pegged as the preseason Southeastern Conference favorite after finishing second in the conference in 2014. The Gators are currently sitting at a 5-2-0 mark on the season after coming off of a split weekend. UF fell in the SEC opener, 2-1, to No. 6 Texas A&M Thursday night before bouncing back in a 4-0 win at Jacksonville on Sunday. One of Florida's notable threats is certainly junior forward Savannah Jordan. Jordan has notched seven goals on the season thus far, bringing her career total to a staggering 48 goals. Ole Miss and Florida missed each other on the schedule in the 2014 season. The last meeting between the two teams took place at the 2013 SEC Tournament, where then-No. 5 Florida walked away with a 2-1 win over the Rebels. Florida is led by head coach Becky Burleigh, who is in her 21st season guiding the program.
MATCHUP WITH MEMPHIS
The University of Memphis is currently coming off of a 4-3 overtime win against Idaho last Sunday. Freshman Lizzie Woerner tallied the golden goal for the Tigers in the second overtime period, bringing their overall season record to 4-1-1. Memphis faces off against Western Kentucky on Friday night at 6 p.m. before returning back to the home pitch to take on the Rebels. The Rebels hold a 9-6-2 all-time advantage against Memphis, with the most recent matchup resulting in 1-1 draw at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium last season. The Tigers are putting their faith in the newcomers this season, with six freshmen having started in the match against UT Martin last Friday. Two of these freshmen helped Memphis claim a 1-0 win over UT Martin. A corner kick by Chanel Hudson-Marks found Olivia Gauthier for a header as the game's only goal. Brooks Monaghan is in his 15th season as head coach of the Tigers.
SCORING EARLY
With a goal by Gretchen Harknett in the seventh minute on Friday night against a ranked Kentucky team, Ole Miss sent the ball into the back of the net in the first 10 minutes for the fourth time this season. Addie Forbus scored in the third minute against Boise State. CeCe Kizer notched a goal in the second minute against Austin Peay. Danielle Gray also tallied an early goal after scoring against UCF in the third minute.
RETURN OF FRIEDMANN
After missing the first six games of the season due to injury, senior outside back Maddie Friedmann is back on the pitch for the Rebels. Friedmann made her first appearance in the team's opening SEC matchup against No. 18 Kentucky. Following Friday's SEC game, Friedmann was able to make her first start of the 2015 season against Louisville on Sunday. She played the full 90 minutes in the victory over the Cardinals and showed to be an important piece of the Ole Miss backline once again.
FORWARDS ON THE ATTACK
With 19 goals in eight games, Ole Miss ranks second in the SEC. A large part of the scoring success can be credited to a pair of forwards in junior Addie Forbus and freshman CeCe Kizer. Kizer paces the Rebels with seven goals, while Forbus has found the back of the net five times. Combining for 12 goals this season, the dynamic duo has been a major factor to the Rebels' early success. They are also the only teammates in the SEC to be ranked in the top five in points. Kizer's seven goals give her 14 points on the 2015 campaign, which is fourth in the conference. Along with her five goals, Forbus has added a pair of assists for a total of 12 points, placing her fifth in the SEC.
UNDER THE HOME LIGHTS
Following the pair of road contests this week, Ole Miss returns home to continue grinding through SEC play. First, the Rebels host Alabama Friday night, Sept. 25, before facing LSU two days later, Sept. 27. Both matches will take place under the lights of the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium, beginning at 7 p.m. CT. As usual, all Ole Miss home games will be available on SEC Network+.
