Ole Miss Finishes in Ninth at Golfweek Conference Challenge

Final Results
WOLCOTT, Colo. - The Ole Miss women's golf team finished up play Wednesday at the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Wolcott, Colo.
The Rebels finished the tournament in ninth place with a total tournament score of 303-303-303-909. San Diego State took the tournament title after finishing 6-under par as a team for the trip.
Leading the way for Ole Miss in the final round was senior Alison Hovatter (Meridianville, Ala.) who fired an even par 72 on the day, including an impressive chip-in eagle on the second hole. In a tie for 12th, the Alabama native was the top finisher for the Rebels.
"Today things really came together for me," Hovatter said. "I made my first eagle in competition with a chip in on my 11th hole. I'm really excited to keep working hard and improving in areas that I need to."
Junior Madisen Bentley (University Place, Wash.) also enjoyed the second hole Wednesday, also earning an eagle for her scorecard. Bentley and Hovatter's eagles were the second and third of the tournament for Ole Miss, as sophomore Sofia Idoyaga (Buenos Aires, Argentina) dropped one on Tuesday.
"This team has improved so much in the two tournaments we've played," Hovatter added. "We will continue to be get better under the direction of Coach Kory (Henkes) and Coach Drew (Belt), and I'm blessed I get to be a part of this team for one more year."
Up next for the Rebels is a trip to Charleston, S.C. for the Wendy's Invitational hosted by Charleston Southern. That tournament gets underway October 5th.
