Ole Miss Shoots Season-High at Withrow Invitational

MURRAY, Ky. - The No. 16 ranked Ole Miss rifle team survived the snow trip up to Murray State and then fired a season-high 4637 aggregate score at the Withrow Invitational Sunday at the Pat Spurgin Range.

The Rebels finished fifth behind No. 2 Murray State, No. 8 Nebraska, No. 9 Memphis and beat No. 12 Jacksonville State.

Smallboreâ€¦
The Rebels spent the week working non-stop on smallbore, and it paid off on Sunday, as they shot a season-high 2290. Freshman Harley Gardner posted a career-best 576 to lead the Rebels. Sophomore Jessica Haig finished with a 573, freshman Allison Villa had a 571 and junior Alison Weisz recorded a 570.

Air Rifleâ€¦
In air rifle, Ole Miss fired a 2347 led by a 591 from Jessica Haig and a 590 by Alison Weisz. It marked the fifth time this season for Weisz to shoot in the 590s and the second for Haig. Harley Gardner also shot a personal best in air rifle with a 586. Allison Villa rounded out the scoring with a 580.

Next upâ€¦
The Rebels are off next weekend before returning to action Feb. 9 vs. Memphis in Jacksonville, Alabama.
