Ole Miss Head Coach Andy Kennedy
On Stefan Moody…
"He was 1-for-6 in the first half and awfully tight. In the second half, he made a few and feels better about life, as we all do. Typically, you want to see him get a steal in the open floor and use that burst to go make a play. He hadn't done that since he injured his leg. He's practiced, but we've limited his reps. He kinda spurted out, and it caught him a little bit. He's going to be sore for a little while, but I'm really proud of his effort. We needed him in a big, big way. This team needs a leader. Everyone wants to be Batman. Everybody can't be Batman. There are a lot of Robins, but everyone thinks they want to be Batman. We need Batman back. It was good to have him back tonight.
On uncertainty of Moody playing…
"There was doubt. He had done zero physically until Monday. It was a very light Monday to see how his leg responded. Tuesday, let's tax him a little bit to see how he responds. We hadn't see him all day because he had class. We hadn't seen him until shoot-around. At shoot-around, he said he felt pretty good. That's when I felt like he was going to go."
On rebounding…
"Huge, huge stats for us as it relates to our approach and our toughness. This team has to be tough. Everyone says that, but we don't have that big body. We're going to be outweighed in there, so we have to be mentally and physically tough and willing to throw our bodies into people. That's never been an issue with (Marcanvis Hymon). He's been willing to do that. But, huge numbers for us. We need to be plus on the glass. We're now 11-1 when we win the rebounding battle. We were plus-seven. We need to keep our turnovers down. Eight for us is huge, and I think only two of those occurred in the second half. Huge stats for us that allow us to get reps."
