Ole Miss Climbs to No.18 in GolfStat.com Rankings

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's golf team climbed seven spots to No. 18 in the latest GolfStat.com rankings released Wednesday.
The Rebels moved up after earning their second tournament win of the season this week at the AutoTrader.com Collegiate Classic in Duluth, Georgia. Ole Miss posted the second-lowest tournament score in school history with a 33-under par 831. Ole Miss also surpassed the tournament record mark of 839 set by last year's winner, Lipscomb, by eight strokes.
Ole Miss is 47-2 overall through four tournaments. The Rebels picked up their first tournament victory of the season at the FAMC Intercollegiate at the Grove in Nashville, Tennessee last month and finished second at The Intercollegiate at The Ocean Course and at the Marquette Intercollegiate.
Sophomore Braden Thornberry continues his outstanding start to the 2016-17 season, climbing to No. 14 in the GolfStat.com individual rankings. Thornberry broke the school record for lowest tournament score with a three-round total of 68-64-66--198. His second-round score of 8-under 64 set a tournament record and career low.
The Rebels head to Hawaii for the Princeville Warrior Invitational October 30.
