TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - A pair of Ole Miss soccer freshmen led the way offensively, as the Rebels won their second-straight match, 2-1, at Alabama Thursday night.

The victory for the Rebels (8-6, 3-3 SEC) marks their third in the last four games, earning another three key points towards the SEC standings. The win also marked the sixth-straight for Ole Miss over Alabama, as the Rebel senior class will finish their careers having never lost to the Crimson Tide.

In Thursday's match, Alley Houghton scored for the second-straight game, while fellow freshman Maddi Falter netted the game-winner. Sophomore CeCe Kizer was credited with the assist on both scores, giving her nine points in her last four contests.

It was Houghton - who scored the game-winner at Kentucky last weekend - who got the offense rolling Thursday, as she found the net in the 23rd minute. Kizer dished her the assist at the 23:26 mark, when she punched it in from roughly five yards out to give the Rebels a 1-0 lead.

After heading into the halftime break 1-0, Alabama came back to tie it up in the 60th when Maddy Anzelc scored the equalizer off a header that snuck through.

But, 10 minutes later, it was Falter who scored the game-winner from the far post when Kizer provided the beautiful assist in for the score. The goal marked the first of her young career, as the Rebels' last three scores have all come from freshmen (Houghton 2, Falter 1).

The Rebels finished with seven shots on the night with three on goal, led by two overall from Houghton and Addie Forbus. The Crimson Tide finished the match with 16 shots and six on goal. Ole Miss goalkeeper Marnie Merritt had a solid night in goal with five saves, her third-straight with at least five stops.

Ole Miss returns to the pitch Sunday at home against No. 16 Florida at 5 p.m. on SEC Network.
