OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss senior forward Sebastian Saiz was named to the preseason All-SEC second team Thursday, as selected by the league's coaches.
The SEC's active leader with 599 career boards, Saiz is the conference's second leading returning rebounder from a year ago after averaging 8.7 per game. Saiz also ranks second in the league among active players with nine career double-doubles and is the Rebels leading returning scorer from last year at 11.7 points per game.
Ten different schools are represented on the two teams with Kentucky having four selections while Arkansas, Florida, Georgia and Vanderbilt have two selections each. In all, 31 different players received votes for the coaches' teams.
The coaches' preseason All-SEC first and second teams consist of a minimum of eight players on each squad, voted on by the SEC Head Men's Basketball Coaches. No ties were broken and no predicted order of finish was made.
