Post Game Quotes: Ole Miss vs. UMass
11/14/2016 | Men's Basketball
Recap | Andy Kennedy
On the game…
"It was really hard to get a flow with the way that the whistle is. We have to adjust because it's across the board. We have 28 fouls. They have 29 fouls. We never really established a rhythm. It's amazing we scored 90 points. I thought we were poor offensively. The one thing we did well at the end, we were in attack mode. They tried to pressure us. When you pressure, you expose the open floor. We made some plays at the basket. We were fortunate. It's certainly not the way you draw it up. We had the ball on the side. Let's throw it to them. Let him kick it off his foot, and then go to the monitor and get it back. It allowed us to set up and get the last shot. Dre (Deandre Burnett) did exactly what I wanted him to do, downhill to his right hand. He had a tough night, but the reality is he hasn't been in these moments except for a couple of times in his career. This is the first time he's in these moments. I expect him, because I see him everyday, to make every play. He got the ball on the rim, which is exactly what you want to do. Sebas (Sebastian Saiz) had a tremendous game. In game one, he had foul trouble and never got any rhythm. He stepped up big for us when we were struggling across the board. He had 22 (points) and 19 (rebounds) and a huge tip to put us in control to get out 2-0."
On turnovers…
"I know what we practice, but I don't see it transfer over. It looks like we're just not comfortable. Forget about where you're supposed to be. We're not comfortable dribbling the ball. We're not aggressive. When we got aggressive there at the end, it allowed us to win the game."
