Rebels Complete First Two Rounds of Gold Rush

SEAL BEACH, Calif. - The Ole Miss women's golf team sits tied for 13th place after playing 36 holes Monday at Old Ranch Country Club in southern California.
Senior Alison Hovatter (Meridianville, Alabama) was the top-performing Ole Miss player, firing a 75-71 - 146 on her way to a top-ten spot going into the final round. Hovatter sits tied in seventh place heading into the final round.
"I came into the tournament with the mindset that I want to give my best effort on every shot and count the score at the end," Hovatter said. "My ball striking continued to improve throughout the day."
"We're really enjoying the California weather," Hovatter added. "We are excited to tee it up tomorrow and represent the greatest university!"
Ole Miss hits the course again tomorrow morning, and fans can follow along via social media or live scoring.
First Round | Results 
Ole Miss Posted a team score of 313 led by Hovatter who posted a 3-over par 75 in the team's first tournament in California since 2010.
Sophomore Sofia Idoyaga (Buenos Aires, Argentina) fired a 4-over par 76 in the first round, anchored by 12 holes of par or better with three birdies.
Second Round | Results
The Rebels posted a team score of 309 and was again led by senior Alison Hovatter. Hovatter carded a 1-under par 71 anchored by a 2-under par back nine with three birdies on the day.
Senior Abby Newton (Katy, Texas) bounced back after a tough first round to produce a 1-over par 73 in the second 18. The Texas native carded eight straight holes of par or better on her way to the second best Rebel score of the day.
