Lake Worth, Fla. - Braden Thornberry and Noah West helped propel the Ole Miss men's golf team to a six-stroke lead after the second round of the FAU Slomin Autism Invite Saturday.

Ole Miss post a tournament low and season-low score of 7-under par 277 to move to first place on day two at Fountains Country Club. The Rebels team score of 10-under 558 through two rounds is also a season-low.

Thornberry and West each fired scores of 4-under par 67 to move to first place on the individual leader boards headed into the final round. The Rebel duo carded ten birdies and finished with only two bogies through their combined 36 holes. Both Rebels are looking for their first tournament title of their careers.

"Braden and Noah have done a great job of leading us this week and have both put themselves in a position to win this tournament individually," said head coach Chris Malloy. "This will be fun to watch tomorrow."

Senior Forrest Gamble turned in a 1-over par 72 to finish the second round tied for 17th place. Fellow Senior Connor Davis moved up 24 spots in the individual leaderboards with an even-par 71 in the second round to finish tied for 28th place. Junior Ben Wolcott eagled the 468-yard par-5 hole No. 11 and is tied for 95th place.

"I am very proud of the guys for finishing off their round today," said Malloy. "We played well again and really stayed focused until the last putt was holed. We are starting to play our best golf at the right time of the year. I am very confident that we will have our best round of the week tomorrow."

The Rebels tee off tomorrow morning. Fans can follow live stats at OleMissSports.com or GolfStat.com.
