Rebels in current ATP Rankings…
Nik Scholtz â€" The four-time All-American is up to a career-best 324 after a few good weeks in Zimbabwe, which included a quarterfinals, semifinals and finals appearance in singles and a doubles final appearance with Tucker Vorster.
Tucker Vorster â€" Vorster jumped up 34 spots to 376 on the heels of his latest title in Zimbabwe. This past weekend he represented South Africa in Davis Cup.
Jonas Lutjen â€" The two-time All-American is ranked 579 this week. He is currently playing league matches in Germany and will return to the pro circuit in August.
All Ole Miss final in Zimbabwe…
Tucker Vorster and Nik Scholtz dueled in the final of the Zimbabwe Futures on July 9 with Vorster taking a 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 win for his first ITF Pro Circuit title this year and sixth overall. Vorster led 5-3 in the third before Scholtz held at love and then fought off a match point to break in a four-deuce game to even it at 5-5. Vorster broke back in a one-deuce game and then held from 40/30 to win it. It marked the eighth meeting all-time between the South African pair. Scholtz owns a 5-3 lead in head to head matches.
Vorster Represents South Africa in Davis Cup…
This past weekend, Tucker Vorster represented South Africa in Davis Cup action in the second round of Group II Europe/Africa against Lithuania. The match was contested at Azuolynas Tennis Centre in Kaunas, Lithuania. Vorster went 1-1, as South Africa lost 3-2.
