All-American Hannah Black Joins Rifle as Assistant Coach

OXFORD, Miss. - Hannah Black, who recently wrapped up an All-American career at TCU, has joined the Ole Miss rifle program as assistant coach, head coach Marsha Beasley announced Thursday.
A native of Richmond, Virginia, Black earned All-America honors in smallbore and air rifle in 2015 and 2016. She helped lead the Horned Frogs to a runner-up finish in the NCAA Championships last season and third place in 2015.
"I am so excited to have Hannah join the program as our assistant coach," Beasley said. "She has spent the last four summers as a coach with the Civilian Marksmanship Summer Camp Program. That experience combined with her outstanding college career at TCU and accomplishments as a member of the U.S. National Team will be invaluable to us."
Black led TCU in 2016 with an average aggregate of 1173 and ranked fourth in air rifle at 591.23 and second in smallbore at 581.77.
"I am really happy and excited to be part of the Ole Miss Family," Black said. "The people I have met so far have been great and the facilities are exceptional. I am also honored to have the opportunity to work with Coach Beasley. Her knowledge and coaching track record are second to none. I'm excited for this opportunity and will work very hard to help bring a national championship to Ole Miss."
As a freshman in 2012-13, Black became the first Horned Frog since 2006 to qualify as an individual for the NCAA Championships and earned a fifth-place finish with a 594 in air rifle.
Black also has experience on the international stage. She earned a fifth-place finish in the Pan American Games in Toronto in 2015. In the fall of 2014, Black competed in the Championship of the Americas in Guadalajara, Mexico as well as the World Cup in Changwon, Korea in April of 2015. She also took part in the USA World Cup in Fort Benning, Ga., and the Munich World Cup in May of 2015.
