Men's Tennis Begins Fall Season

OXFORD, Miss. - Freshman Tim Sandkaulen highlighted the Ole Miss men's tennis team's first weekend of fall play, which included some players competing at the Cajun Classic in Lafayette, Louisiana and others at the Southern Intercollegiate in Athens, Georgia.
Cajun Classic
Sandkaulen opened the tournament with a three-set loss to Southern California's Laurens Verboven, but rebounded to post straight set wins against Coleman Wahlborg of Louisiana and R. Saborio of LSU to reach the semifinals, where he beat Henry Ji of USC 1-6, 6-0, 6-4. He lost in the final to Connor Curray of Texas Tech 7-6(3), 6-2.

The rest of the team was in Athens, Georgia at the Southern Intercollegiate. In Division I singles, sophomore Filip Kraljevic won his first round in singles before falling to the top seed and finalist Michael Redlicki of Arkansas. In doubles, Kraljevic and Zvonimir Babic, ranked No. 6 in the nation, advanced to the third round before falling.
