Matt Mott Weekly Press Conference

Sept. 26, 2016

Ole Miss Soccer Head Coach Matthew Mott met with members of the media on Monday as part of his weekly press conference. Coach Mott recapped last weekend's action versus Mississippi State and Arkansas, and also previewed this weekend's matchup at Kentucky (Saturday, 6:30 p.m., SECN+).

Opening Statement...
"Certainly a full game of emotions this weekend with a very good win on Thursday against Mississippi State and certainly a rivalry game and everything that comes with that. We played really well with three goals. One was form Liza Harbin and two from CeCe Kizer. I was really happy with how we played. We defended really well and didn't get them any looks. We created some good attacks and corers. I'm happy with that game. We turned it around with a really good opportunity yesterday to play No. 15 Arkansas. We came up short, but we started the game well. CeCe scored a goal about five minutes into the game on a great assist from Melissa Capocaccia. We gave one right off a corner kick, a mistake by us. In the second half, we didn't come out good. We gave up another goal on a mistake by us, not marking on the back post, and then really pushed for the equalizer and fought like crazy. We gave ourselves some chances but just couldn't find that second goal. We are reeling a little bit because we are hitting crossbars and posts and those kind of things that make you frustrated as a coach and frustrated as a team. We now have to turn our focus on Kentucky, who has always been a tough game for us. We have always gone back and forth. I saw in the notes that we are 10-11-1 all-time against them. It'll be a tough time to play up there against them. But we will look forward and going up to play against a very good and very dangerous Kentucky team."
