Anna Vrbenska Named SEC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - With only two dual matches on her resume, Anna Vrbenska of the Ole Miss women's tennis team is already making headlines, as she was named the SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Vrbenska (7-3) combined to go 3-0 in doubles and singles on the Rebels season-opening road trip out west. She won both her doubles and singles matches in a 7-0 win at UC Irvine and then in just her second dual match, Vrbenska clinched a 4-3 victory at Hawaii, winning 6-4 in the third set at No. 3 singles.
The Rebels head to Charlottesville, Virginia this weekend for the ITA Kick-Off, which serves as the qualifier for the National Team Indoor. They will face host Virginia Saturday at 12:30 p.m. CT in the first round.
