Recap

OLE MISS HEAD COACH Andy Kennedy

On the ability of fours to score consistently and how that played tonight ...
"It seems like that to me all season. Offensively, that has been a struggle for us all season. You don't allow an SEC opponent to come into your building shoot 51 percent from the floor, score 80, have as many offensive rebounds as you have defensive rebounds, it's a miracle that we were in the game. We made some shots, I thought (Terence Davis) was fantastic in the second half, knocking down some shots. Cullen hits a big three to give us a chance, we just couldn't come up with a big stop. It seemed like every time we needed one, and they gave us opportunities. They went through a stretch of missing four or five shots and kept maintaining possession and getting the ball. We couldn't get the ball, you gotta get the ball to win."

On keeping A&M away from the basket and easy shots ...
"They're bigger, faster, stronger obviously up front. It was a different level and anytime we tried switching they did some things late in the shot clock to get some point blank shots. The fight has to be earlier, you can't let league caliber players get point-blank shots."

On the shot-clock violation and goaltending close play at the end ...
"You know my staff was yelling that they didn't get it off in time. From my vantage point, I couldn't see. However, it didn't go in so it wasn't reviewable."

On the disheartening loss and how you prepare a team for a Baylor team ...
"Everybody in the room has a different view on this game and the Baylor game. Our view has never changed, we have to get better. Plain and simple, from day one, I've told these guys that we have to get better. We are not talking big picture, we have got to get better. We have some injuries and the Rasheed situation, and we're just trying to fill holes in our team. We are just trying to manage games as best we can and give ourselves a chance. A&M is a talented team and they played us really well tonight."

On Rasheed Brooks ...
"He had one more test today that was the last hurdle. I have not gotten an update. However, he was in the locker room and his spirit was up, I just have not gotten word from the doctor."
