Men's Tennis Ready for All-American Main Draw

TULSA, Okla. -- Qualifying has concluded in men's singles and doubles at the Saint Francis Health System/ITA All American Championships, with Ole Miss men's tennis players Gustav Hansson, Fabian Fallert and Grey Hamilton set to begin competing in the main draw Thursday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Qualifying recap...
Three Rebels competed in qualifying singles, but did not advance. Junior Filip Kraljevic, who advanced from the pre-qualifying lost to Kyle Seelig of Ohio State in three sets. Senior Grey Hamilton also lost in three sets to Artem Kapshuk of Texas Tech, who ended up earning one of the qualifying spots into the main draw. Junior Fabian Fallert had a tough match against Will Little of Baylor, falling in straight sets.
In doubles seniors Zvonimir Babic and Gustav Hansson won their first match 3-6, 6-3, 10-6, against Sam Edwards and Alex Favrot of Clemson. The pair came up short in their second match against Yuya Ito and Harrison Scott of Texas 6-3, 0-6, 10-8.
Main draw in focus...
Hansson will face Matic Spec of Minnesota in the first round at 10 a.m. Hansson advanced to the third round of singles last year, and this will be his first collegiate action of the season, as he competed in the ITF Futures in California last month. Fallert and Hamilton are seeded 5-8 in doubles and will face qualifiers, Ito and Scott (Texas), who defeated Rebel teammates Babic and Hansson in the second round of qualifying.
