Hansson Moves on At All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. - Another day, another straight set win for Ole Miss men's tennis senior Gustav Hansson, who advanced to the third round at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships Friday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Straight sets into third round…
Hansson downed Spencer Furman (Duke) 6-1, 6-4 in the second round. In the first set Hansson broke early and dominated for 6-1. The second set was a little closer, but Hansson gained a break to go up 4-3 serving. Furman broke back on a deciding point for 4-4, but Hansson gained the break back and then served it out for 6-4. This marks the second year in a row for Hansson to reach the third round at the All-American.
Next up for Hansson will be Wake Forest senior Skander Mansouri, who is ranked No. 10 in the nation. The two All-Americans will meet Saturday at 10 a.m.
Fallert/Hamilton drop consolation match…
Fabian Fallert and Grey Hamilton, ranked No. 11, dropped their consolation match to Stanford's Michael Genender and Sameer Kumar 6-1, 7-5. After Stanford took the first set, the Rebels jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the second set, but the Cardinal duo rallied to win it.
Quoting assistant coach Devin Britton…
"Gus came out with another strong win today in straight sets. He is looking very composed out there and is representing the Rebels well. It only gets tougher from here, but I know he's up to the challenge."
