Postgame Quotes: Louisiana

Ole Miss Head Coach Andy Kennedy
On his overall thoughts…
"I liked our fight. We played great early and kept with it. I thought we made some adjustments in game as far as guys settling down, starting to make a pass and really formulate who we can really be as a team. We got contributions from many people and we beat a quality team by 18 points on a night that we did not play our best. I want to say this, I have been here twelve years, but without question the best crowd for the opening night. I was really pleased and I was glad we played in a way that hopefully they will come back. Rebel Nation showed up for us in a big way and I want to thank them publically for that."
On Marcanvis Hymon's double-double…
"I thought he was terrific. He's had a great summer; he's really approached it like a veteran like you would hope he would. He's played more minutes for us than anybody on our team. He's the only guy who's been in the program for four years. I've been really proud of how he's led. I've challenged him to lead that group of bigs because of his experience and tonight I he was really good. He was active and made plays. He finished around the basket and kept balls alive. He had 13 big rebounds against a good basketball team."
On the defense…
"Louisiana is a good basketball team and we knew that coming in and they challenged us early and it was good for our team. I thought we were out of shorts a little bit in the first half, settled in for the second half. We were not only able to be more efficient offensively but I thought defensively we were locked in. First shot defense was working for all night. Transition D was bad early and then they were hurting us on the offensive glass and I thought we got better as the night went on."
