JONESBORO, Ark. -- The No. 19 ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team picked up two shut out wins at Arkansas State Friday to remain undefeated on the season heading into next week's National Team Indoor Championship.

Arkansas State was shorthanded, so the Rebels began the day with a win at No. 3 doubles and then Arianne Hartono and Anna Vrbenska downed Julie Gauguery and Shannon O'Brien 6-2 at No. 1 to put the Rebels up 1-0.

Without a No. 6 player, the Rebels began singles up 2-0. Redshirt freshman Tereza Janatova made her debut and quickly won 6-1, 6-1 against A-State's Allison Quammen at No. 5 singles to increase the lead to 3-0.

Freshman Anna Vrbenska clinched the win at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-2 against Sabina Jeresic. Hartono and Zalina Khairudinova provided the last two points in straight sets for the 6-0 score.

In the second match, the teams started with singles, and Alexa Bortles gave the Rebels a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles. Thoughts from head coach Mark Beyers...
"This was a solid couple of wins for us. It was good we got tested in a few spots, where some of the girls played a few spots higher. It's what we need to get ready for next week at the National Indoors. Good to get two road wins. Now we can start preparing for next weekend."

Up next...
Ole Miss will travel to New Haven, Connecticut for the National Team indoor Feb. 10-13. The Rebels will learn their first-round opponent when the draw is announced Feb. 7.
