LOS ANGELES - The Ole Miss men's tennis team advanced to the NCAA second round for the 24th straight year, but could not take down the No. 5 seed, UCLA, falling 4-0 here Saturday at the Sunset Canyon Tennis Courts to end the season.

In their first-round win against UCSB, the Rebels won a very close doubles point and then four, five and six singles for 4-1. This time, however, UCLA took the early momentum and never relinquished it as they secured a berth in the Sweet Sixteen.

Fabian Fallert and Grey Hamilton were locked in a tight 5-5 battle at No. 1 doubles against the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, but the Bruins captured courts two and three by the same score of 6-3 to take the early 1-0 lead.

UCLA maintained momentum by winning four first sets in singles and closed out the Rebels in straight sets at one, two and three to clinch.

Fallert and Filip Kraljevic both won their first sets at four and five. Hamilton lost a close first set at six and was tied 1-1 in the second.

At the Net…
• The Rebels end the season at 17-10 and with their 24th straight NCAA appearance
• Fallert concludes his singles campaign at 25-6 overall, 19-3 in dual matches and with 12 straight wins
• Gustav Hansson had his six-match win streak snapped

Thoughts from head coach Toby Hansson...
"UCLA really took it to us today. They took control of the match early in doubles and never gave us a chance to get back in the match in singles. Hats off to them, they deserved this win."

Up next…
Gustav Hansson will compete in the NCAA Singles Championship, while Fabian Fallert and Grey Hamilton are in the doubles field. The individual championships begin May 24 following the team championships in Athens, Georgia.
